Welcome!

Welcome and Waidmannsheil! The Heartland Chapter is home to over 100 members in Iowa,  Illinois, and Kentucky.  We  are  one  of  eight chapters  within  the  Verein  Deutsch-Drahthaar  -  Group North America.

This  website is  primarily for use  by  our chapter members in order to stay up to date on news and chapter activities throughout the year. We  are  a  diverse  group  of  hunters  that  promote  the  versatility  in  the Deutsch-Drahthaar.  We  train  and  test  in  the  German  JGHV  system.  As hunters  we  require  a  lot  from  our  dogs,  and  the  Deutsch  Drahthaar  breed provides exactly that.

For information on the history or testing requirements of  this  versatile  hunting  dog,  visit  vdd-gna.org.  If  you  are  interested  in talking  to someone  or  seeking  information  on  our  chapter  please  feel  free to contact any board member, breeder, or trainer listed on these pages.
