Welcome and Waidmannsheil! The Heartland Chapter is home to over 100 members in Iowa,  Illinois, and Kentucky.  We  are  one  of  eight chapters  within  the  Verein  Deutsch-Drahthaar  -  Group North America. 

This  website is  primarily for use  by  our chapter members in order to stay up to date on news and chapter activities throughout the year. We  are  a  diverse  group  of  hunters  that  promote  the  versatility  in  the Deutsch-Drahthaar.  We  train  and  test  in  the  German  JGHV  system.  As hunters  we  require  a  lot  from  our  dogs,  and  the  Deutsch  Drahthaar  breed provides exactly that.

Annoucements

Save the date for the 2024 Annual Meeting. This years meeting will take place at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL on March 2, 2024.

There will also be a VJP at the same location March 1 & 2. Entries are currently being accepted, see the official VDD-GNA event calender for more information on how to sign up.

On Sunday March 3, there will be a Breed Show also in Sparta, IL. More information to follow.
